National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for southwest Missouri

The Ozarks is preparing for an early blast of winter weather.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of the southern Missouri Ozarks. The advisory covers Barry, Camden, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence. Maries, McDonald. Miller, Morgan, Newton (Mo.), Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, Stone, Taney, Texas, Webster, and Wright Counties. The advisory goes into effect Monday at 6 a.m. and lasts through 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Forecasters say this is mainly a snow event, with some sleet possible. Up to three inches are expected, especially in higher terrain. Be prepared for reduced visibility and snow-covered roads.
