Grafton water main break has been fixed

A water main break on Frankie Lane in Grafton that left half a dozen residences without water was fixed Sunday evening, authorities said.

The main was repaired between 5 and 5:30 p.m, and all residences now have running water, said Cindy Mercier , a dispatcher for Grafton police. Water may contain a brownish tint for a short time, but is safe to drink, Mercier said.

Grafton Water Department operator Ron Festa said the break occurred around 9 a.m. and officials have yet to determine what caused it.

A 10 a.m. Facebook post on the Grafton Police Department’s page showed a flooded street and urged people to direct questions to the Grafton Water Department.
