Restaurant: Impossible's Robert Irvine Couldn't Save His Own Outlet Mall Eatery

Food Network person and resume padder Robert Irvine — you know, the guy who hosts a show about saving failing restaurants — is shuttering one of his own. That's right, according to the State, Irvine is closing his South Carolina outlet mall hotspot Nosh. A spokesperson for Irvine claims that the restaurant is closing not because of a lack of "profits" — because of course people flock to outlet malls to eat, but because of the TV host's "increasingly busy schedule."

Apparently spending his days as a talking head on TV gave him no time to manage the restaurant (he claims to spend 340 days on the road). Irvine's flack notes, "He's too busy to be as personally involved as he wants to be," adding that despite the restaurant's closure, Irvine is "very much still qualified" to help struggling restaurants.

That crazy filming and travel schedule of his hasn't stopped the brawny Brit from opening new restaurants, however. In May, Irvine revealed that he is opening a restaurant inside the Pentagon called Robert Irvine Fresh Kitchen. The State notes that the musclebound man also plans to open restaurants in Las Vegas and the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.
