Two teens arrested on gun charges for sawed-off shotgun

A 17-year-old and 18-year-old were arrested at a Dover library after police discovered they had a sawed-off shotgun/rifle combo gun, according to police. 

Police are searching for this firearm in relation to two arrests in Dover

Police found evidence linking the two teens to the gun and arrested them at the Dover Public Library on Thursday, Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman of Dover police said. 

The 17-year-old and Jayaire Brittingham, 18, were charged with possession of a destructive weapon and released on bond. 

Following The News Journal's policy on minors, the 17-year-old will not be identified.

The gun has not been found, and anyone with information is asked to contact Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130.
