Kinsey Hudson went 4 for 4 with an RBI and was a home run short of the cycle as St. Albans rolled to a 10-1 prep softball win over visiting South Charleston in five innings Wednesday.
Britney Sharp added three hits and four RBIs for St. Albans (9-5) with Kayla Letart and Jillian Holley each bashing out a pair of hits. Letart had a double and two RBIs. Morgan Larch drove home the lone run for South Charleston.
Herbert Hoover 12, Winfield 2: Herbert Hoover had 15 hits to power past Winfield. Kyerstin Belcher led the visiting Huskies (13-0), going 3 for 3 with two doubles. Mallory Chapman also had two doubles. Elyssa Medley led Winfield (7-8) with a double.
Poca 9, Logan 1: Mercedes Bush was 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs as the Dots collected 11 hits in the five-inning mercy-rule home win. Tori Gibeout and Karlie Hill both had two hits for Poca (9-5) and Jordan Phillips drove in a run. Taylor Bonnett earned the win pitching for the Dots.
Chapmanville 2, Nitro 0: Jada Freeman’s double and RBI was led Chapmanville (9-0) past Nitro (12-1) in a Cardinal Conference matchup. McKenzie McCann and Kara Browning each had two hits for the Tigers.

Charleston Catholic 4, Valley 2: Marshall Pile’s two RBIs led Charleston Catholic past Valley. Brandon Combs and Tim Kawash each had two hits for the Irish. James Harper led the Greyhounds with two hits and an RBI.
Nitro 6, Poca 1: Mike Stone struck out 11 in 52/3 innings and was 2-3 with a double and two RBIs for Nitro (6-4). Josh Adkins also had two hits for the Wildcats. Charles Roberts had two hits and Isaac McClanahan drove in a run for Poca.
Sissonville 10, Calhoun County 0: Scott Soblit was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs as the Indians pounded out 11 hits in the home win. Michael Pinkerton and Will Hackney both had two hits and drove in two runs for Sissonville (4-7). Phillip Wilson and Caden Hicks had two hits each for Calhoun County.
Greenup County 2, Hurricane 0: Gage Hughes had a double and an RBI to lead Greenup County (Ky.) past Hurricane. Tyler Cox and Jake Allen each had a double for the Redskins (12-2).
Scott 8, Herbert Hoover 5: The Skyhawks scored two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to earn the road win. Aaron Epling and Isaac Miller both had two hits for Scott. Justin Stover had three hits for Hoover while Brandon Mullins and Luke Stricker had two RBIs each.
St. Albans 10, Capital 2: Josh Samples and Casey Kemplin both had three hits as the Red Dragons pounded out 16 hits in the road win. Darrin Flowers, Connor Fizer, Nick Loftis, and Chayce Matheny all had two hits for St. Albans and Jake Carr struck out 10. Michael Stuck drove in a run for Capital.
Woodrow Wilson 3, South Charleston 1: Hunter Fansler’s hit led Woodrow Wilson past South Charleston. Tyler Atkinson led South Charleston with two hits.
