READING, Penn. — Two students at Albright College were suspended after a series of racially charged videos showed them wearing blackface and mocking the Black Lives Matter movement.

The videos, which were posted to Snapchat, show one woman in blackface calling herself “Carlisha” and laughingly making comments like, “black lives matter now, okay? F–k white people.” Another video shows her “twerking” after adding padding to the back of her pants.

Users would later record the videos and upload them to YouTube.

Albright College suspended the two students most directly involved, according to WFMZ. The school put out a statement on Friday soon after the videos surfaced.

“We unequivocally condemn the behavior in the video. The college celebrates and takes great pride in its diversity… The students involved have expressed deep remorse and voluntarily came forward to report their actions… We are evaluating their behavior with respect to the student code of conduct and will determine what disciplinary action is warranted.”

An investigation through the college’s community standards process will determine what, if any, other consequences will come down, Lex O. McMillan III, Albright’s president, said Friday.

A racially-charged incident Tuesday night on the campus of the University of Missouri prompted a suspension of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.
