Working on a project? Maria Shriver meets legendary producer Brian Grazer and Ron Howard for lunch in LA
She's an award-winning journalist and her lunch dates were two of Hollywood's heaviest heavyweights.
So what were Maria Shriver, Ron Howard and Brian Glazer plotting when they met up at the Tavern restaurant in the upscale Los Angeles neighbourhood of Brentwood on Monday?
The trio looked like old friends as they stood chatting on the street outside the eatery.
Stepping out: Maria Shriver meets legendary producer Brian Grazer and Ron Howard for lunch in LA on Monday
Indeed, they may well have met as long ago as 1990 when Ron and Howard's company, Imagine Entertainment, produced Kindergarten Cop, starring Maria's ex, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
And they are bound to have bumped into each other frequently in the small world of Hollywood A-listers.
The 59-year-old, who is presently a special anchor and correspondent for NBC News, was professionally turned out in a black leather jacket over a blouse and black skinny trousers that she tucked into her black boots.
Working on a project? The trio appeared to be deep into a lively conversation as they were spotted in LA
She slung a leather handbag over her shoulder and she clutched papers that looked about the right shape and size for a script.
Her lush brunette tresses were pulled back into a high ponytail and her face was perfectly made up.
Maria's producer-director friends were more casually attired.
Something to smile about: Maria held what appeared to be an important folder of documents for the meeting
Brian, 63, wore a plum-coloured bomber jacket with jeans and multi-coloured trainers, with his grey hair in his usual spiky style.
Sixty-year-old Ron, a former child star famous for his role in Happy Days, wore a cream v-neck sweater over a T-shirt, beige trousers and sneakers.
He pulled a green baseball cap with a beige peak over his red hair and sported a light beard and moustache that is beginning to grey.
Mwah! The pair even enjoyed a kiss on the cheek as they said their goodbyes
Ron was holding a pad and his glasses in one hand as if he had been taking notes.
The trio parted cordially, with Brian reaching up to kiss the taller Maria goodbye.
With the awards season coming up, it's fairly certain that they will meet again soon.
Now the real work starts: Shortly after the meeting Maria appeared to be stressed
