A Hanford-based well drilling company is booked out for months amid a dry Winter.

Grabow Well Drilling Inc. has specialized in water well drilling for over a century. The company is family-owned, Derick Grabow is the sixth generation.

“It’s for dairies, for irrigation systems,” Derick Grabow said. “Crops and cows need water.”

Grabow Drilling returned this year to the World Ag Expo in Tulare. Eyewitness News got a first-hand look at drilling process with their 55 foot well rig. It can drill up to 1,400 feet.

The company has been slammed the past few years during the state’s historic drought. This season has been another dry one so far, and they’re currently booked out about two months. The team is working around the clock to keep up with demand.

“For the dairymen and farmers that’s not good at all, so we have about 15 to 16 wells lined up already,” Grabow said.

The company has drilled over 10,000 wells across the San Joaquin Valley since 1903.
