Warriors announce incoming men’s soccer class

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Reloading after the winningest senior class in program history left the field in 2018, the Lycoming College men's soccer team will bring in 14 freshmen, sixth-year head coach Nate Gibboney announced on Tuesday, May 15.

The class, which features four defenders, four midfielders, four forwards and two goalkeepers from four different states (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Maryland), will try to ease the loss of nine seniors, including seven starters that helped win two MAC Commonwealth titles and a record 61 games.

The Warriors finished the 2017 season 19-3 overall and 7-1 in the MAC Commonwealth, as they also won the program's third MAC Commonwealth title in five years with its 2-1 win over top-ranked Messiah. Lycoming also advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship after it defeated Lehman, 2-0. The program also recorded its school-record tying fifth-straight winning season.

Lycoming opens the 2018 season at Grove City on Friday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m.
