Jesus “Jesse” GuzmanJan. 28, 1938-June 12, 2019Jesus “Jesse” T Guzman of Evans passed away June 12, 2019, at his home. He was born Jan. 28, 1938, to Jose and Antonia Guzman in Uvalde, Texas. Between the ages 8 to 19 years old his uncle, Gabriel and aunt, Apollonia raised him.He came to Colorado in 1957 as a field worker, carpenter and farm hand. Then he became a welder and worked for Harsh Hydraulics for many years. He also worked for and retired from Coors Brewery in 1999.He was self-taught at trades he wanted to complete. He built 3 homes from the ground up; he worked hard at his home. He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing and camping. He loved watching western movies and his Broncos and Rockies playing.Jesus married Catalina (Lina) Torrez in 1959; they were married for 40 years until her passing in 1999. They had five children, Carmen (Rudy), Mona (Gary), Margie (Andrew), Gabriel (Sue), and Rose Ann (Donny). 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.In 2001 he married Mary Armijo, and he welcomed two more children into his family, Louanna (Steve), and Eddie (Marci).He is survived by four sisters, and five brothers, also cousins from Fort Worth, Texas, who are like his brothers and sisters.He is preceded in death by his wife, Catalina; grandson, Jacob Guzman; parents, aunt and uncle.Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019, at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley.
