Rosemary Thornhill, 78, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana.
She was born on May 30, 1938, in Pascola, Mo. to Frederick and Myrtle (Wilson) Cook.
When Rosemary was a young child, the family relocated to St. Louis and then to Wentzville. She graduated from Wentzville High School in 1955. After her formal schooling, she joined the workforce.
Rosemary was blessed with four children, Stephen, Marilyn, D. Dean and Lori. She was an avid reader and especially liked mystery and western books. Doing puzzles and crossword puzzles along with playing Scrabble with her grandchildren were some of her pastimes. Her family said she had a "sweet tooth" and liked to eat dessert first. She had a quiet disposition and sweet way about her.
Surviving are her loving children, Stephen (Dorothy) Jaspering, Marilyn Jaspering, D.Dean (Lori) Jaspering and Lori (Rich) York along with her ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings.
Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location. Rev. Garry McCracken officiated. Interment followed follow at Linn Cemetery, Wentzville.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., American Cancer Society or donor's choice, c/o the funeral home.
