I am saddened to hear of John's passing. Betty, I remember so many good times on Madison with your family. John always brightened up our day. Thank Love to all. Gloria Doherty (née Gloria Jean Piela)

John and I probably met in the sandbox. It's certain we were together at First Holy Communion, Confirmation and High School Graduation. In between those events, we spent hours and days at the Beaver Street Boys Club playing basketball. Occasionally we found time for mischief and schoolwork.
During HS, he could throw a baseball as hard and fast as anyone. He was a fierce, fearless and relentless rebounder on the basketball court. Without him, our 8th grade team wouldn't have won the...
