Arvid Ness

Arvid Ness, 73, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Arvid was born to Edwin L. and Hilda A. Ness on September 30, 1943, in Pelican Rapids, MN. He attended District 10 country school in Cormorant Township before graduating from Lake Park High School. He furthered his education at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND, and began his career as a plumber/pipe-fitter. On May 20, 1967, he married Paulette Mumm and they made their home in Lake Park, MN. During their 34 years of marriage they raised four children.

Arvid enjoyed spending time outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader, especially loving Westerns by Louis L`Amour.

Arvid is survived by his children, Steven (Rebekah) of Moorhead, Sharon (Jeff) Dickerson of Richville, MN, Jason (Tiffany) of Moorhead, and Brian (Meggie Cansler) of Sonoma, CA; grandchildren, Alyssa and Joshua Ness, Jacob, Justin and Stephanie Dickerson, Carrigan and Josephine Ness; brothers, Lowell (Carol Mae) Ness of Lake Park, Harold (Diane) Ness of Moorhead, Harvey Ness of Lake Park, MN; sister, Paulette (Ron) Foss of Zeeland, ND; brother-in-law, Kenneth Berg of Detroit Lakes, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Arvid was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hilda Ness, and his sisters, Gail Berg and Irene Roen.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 16, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM, in Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, MN.

Interment will be held at Park Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Lake Park, MN.
