The name has been released of the 32-year-old man who died in a traffic accident on Harrison Avenue Friday night as Cole Davis, nephew to Ron Davis, who owns Butte Broadcasting Inc., BSB coroner Lee LaBreche said Sunday.
Cole Davis died at the scene due to his injuries, LaBreche said.
The accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Friday when Davis and his wife pulled out of the Copper King Hotel and Convention Center parking lot onto Harrison Avenue. A pickup truck driving southbound on Harrison Avenue hit Davis's car. Montana Highway Patrol Captain Gary Becker said Saturday that the crash is still under investigation but added that both speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the accident.
Both the driver and passenger of the pickup truck as well as Davis’s wife were also transported to St. James Healthcare Friday night.
