Sixty-nine trailers that once housed hurricane victims are now up for auction in Hope, Arkansas.
The trailers currently sitting at the Hope Airport are just some of the thousands of trailers and mobile homes bought by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Many of the home went to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita to provide temporary housing.
A FEMA spokeswoman said it's not cost efficient for the government to spend the estimated $1,500 in repairs each trailer needs, plus the government wants to reduce the number of trailers in its inventory anyway.
If you're interested in purchasing a trailer, you can go to the Government Services Administration's website by clicking on the link at the top of the page. Descriptions, photographs, and trailer damage is listed on the website, as well as instructions on how to bid for the trailers. The one-and-two bedroom trailers are being sold as-is.
