Nellore techie employed in Chennai goes missing

No trace of 23-year-old who left house in Neelankarai.

Chennai: Police are on the lookout for a 23-year-old software engineer who has been missing for the last four days. Kancharla Venkat Sai Teja, a native of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, was employed in MindTree, IT firm, in Chennai. He was staying with his friends at a rented house in Neelankarai.

On Saturday evening, Venkat reportedly went out on his motorbike and never returned. His flatmates filed a missing complaint with the police after a futile search in the neighbourhood and the spots he frequents. His parents residing in Nellore were also informed. Speaking to DC, a relative said that the man’s parents reached Chennai on Monday.

“There have been versions told to us that his slippers were found near the beach. Police have told us that they have alerted the police stations along the coast. But, it has been more than three days since he went missing and there has been no information so far,” the relative added.

Neelankarai police told DC that a missing case has been registered based on the complaint.

“We are enquiring with parents and his friends to check if the man had any personal issues to cope with,” an investigating official said.

Police investigations revealed that he has been living in the city for about six years now. He graduated in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from a private university in Kattankulathur in 2015. “We have also enquired some of his friends from college if they are aware of his whereabouts,” the official added.
