$5,000 in computer equipment stolen

On Oct. 22 at about 7 a.m., Milpitas Police Department officers responded to a commercial burglary at Advantech Corp. at 380 Fairview Way.

Police said sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 21 and the time of the call someone used a river rock to smash a window at the business, then entered and stole $5,000 worth of electronic equipment including laptop computers.

No suspects are known in this case, police said.

Carnegie Drive burglary nets electronics

On Oct. 20 at about 12:50 p.m., police responded to a residential burglary on the 100 block of Carnegie Drive.

That day, someone entered the home through an unlocked bedroom window. They stole $2,500 worth of miscellaneous electronics including a cell phone, an iPad and a laptop computer, police said.

No suspects are known in this case, police said.

$10,000 in electronics, sporting gear stolen

On Oct. 20 at about 8:40 a.m., police responded to the report of a residential burglary on the 100 block of Delong Lane near McCandless Drive.

Police said someone entered the home’s garage through a small window. The suspects stole laptops and other computer equipment, a Trek bicycle, exercise equipment, sports gear and golf clubs, police said.

The total loss was valued at $10,000. No suspects are known, police said.

$1,000 in tools taken from pick-up truck

On Oct. 18 at 11:05 p.m., police responded to the report of a vehicle burglary at an apartment complex on the 100 block of North Temple Drive.

That evening, someone broke into a GMC pickup parked in a carport and stole $1,000 worth of miscellaneous tools from inside the vehicle, police said.

No suspects are known in this case, police said.

$3,000 gold necklace stolen during robbery

On Oct. 18 at about 4:50 p.m., police responded to a robbery report at 1350 Great Mall Drive.

Police said that afternoon a 28-year-old San Jose woman was walking in the mall’s parking lot when a man approached, grabbed the victim’s gold necklace and pushed her to the ground.

The victim suffered minor injuries as the robber fled on foot with her $3,000 necklace, police said.

The suspect was described as a white man with a light complexion, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 150 to 200 pounds, with short black hair, a thinly groomed beard, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, police said.

Transient arrested for assault at barber shop

On Oct. 17 at about 4:20 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at Legends Barbershop at 184 S. Main St.

That afternoon, a woman walked into the business and got into a verbal altercation with employees about a haircut she had apparently gotten there.

At some point, the woman brandished a piece of glass and flailed around the store with it, police said. No injuries occurred.

Arriving officers arrested Monica Ruben, a 33-year-old transient, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

$645 iPhone stolen at Milpitas High

On Oct. 17 at about 8:30 a.m., police responded to a theft at Milpitas High School.

That morning, a 14-year-old Milpitas boy discovered someone had taken his iPhone 5c from his school locker. The loss was valued at $645, police said.

No suspects are known in this case, police said.
