OLANTA, SC (WIS) - An Olanta police officer was arrested and charged with arson Thursday.

Deputies say Robert Smith initially reported his 2001 Dodge Dakota had been stolen from his home in Coward last week.

The next day deputies found the truck in town and it had been set on fire, but an investigation showed the fire had been intentionally set by Smith.

Smith is now being charged with arson and false report of a stolen vehicle.

Another man, James David Morris, was also arrested and charged with third degree arson.
