Jailed rap mogul Suge Knight will NOT be allowed to attend his mother's funeral after she passed away following stroke
- Suge Knight's mother, Maxine Chatman, died Sunday at a hospital in California
- The 77-year-old suffered a stroke in May and her health continued to deteriorate
- Knight hoped to get out of a jail for a day as he awaits trial for murder charges
- But LA County Sheriff Department revealed it is unlikely he will be able to attend
Suge Knight will not be allowed to leave jail and attend his mother's funeral, it has been revealed.
The former music mogul had been hoping to say goodbye to his mother Maxine Chatman, who died on Sunday at a hospital in Paramount, California.
Chatman, who was 77 years old, had suffered a stroke last month. Her lungs recently collapsed and she had kidney failure.
But the LA County Sheriff's Department revealed it is unlikely Knight will be permitted to attend as he is currently awaiting trial for murder, according to TMZ.

Although Knight could file a petition to have the decision appealed, sources said it is unlikely the court would let him attend.
But last year a judge did allow the Death Row Records co-founder an opportunity to see his ailing mother.
At the time Knight had been blocked from seeing family and receiving mail or phone calls while awaiting trial on murder charges.
The 52-year-old pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges filed in 2015 after he ran over two men outside a burger stand in Compton, California.

His lawyers have said Knight was acting in self-defense when he ran over Cle 'Bone' Sloan, who was punching Knight through the window of his pickup truck, and Terry Carter, who died from his injuries.
Knight was a key player in the gangster rap scene that flourished in the 1990s and has been kept under tight security since he turned himself in to authorities after the fatal altercation in January 2015.
The rap mogul faces potential life sentences if convicted because of prior convictions for armed robbery and assault with a gun.
In April, Knight had some health problems of his own.
It remains unclear why the rap mogul was admitted into the hospital for two days, but he was previously treated for blood clots in 2017.
