‘Biggest game of my career’ – Alnwick delivers verdict on Rangers clash v Motherwell

Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has claimed will play in the most important game of his career on Sunday but the shot-stopper has added that he doesn’t get nervous ahead of big games.
Alnwick will start between the sticks ahead of regular goalkeeper Wes Foderingham against Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup semi-final this weekend as Pedro Caixinha continues to rotate his keepers in the cup.
It will only be Alnwick’s fourth appearance since his move from Port Vale in January but the 24-year-old admits he is can’t wait for the opportunity to play in such a big game for the Gers.
“When I was back down south and playing I had the FA Cup but to get to a semi-final and be playing on the big stage is an exciting thing and I can’t wait for it,” Alnwick told RangersTV, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“I think you’d have to say it’s the biggest game of my career so far.
“You look at my past career and I have played in the Premier League but any semi-final of any cup is always going to be one of your biggest games.”
Alnwick has played in all the League Cup games so far this season as Rangers have saw off Dunfermline and Partick Thistle to reach the last-four.
The former Newcastle youngster also started the Scottish Premiership clash with St. Johnstone in May and has impressed Rangers fans in his limited appearances so far.
Sunday’s League Cup semi-final sees the the Gers take 38,000 fans to the national stadium as they aim for their first major trophy since 2011.
Celtic and Hibs meet in the other semi-final with the winners facing off in the final on Novermber 26th.
