Debby Boone Kicks Off Segerstrom Center's Crescendo Chapter 2015-16 Celebrity Series Today

Debby Boone kicks off Crescendo Chapter of The Guilds of Segerstrom Center's annual speakers series, which features celebrated artists or experts in their arts-related fields, today, September 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. The events are on the second Thursday of September and November, 2015 and January and March, 2015.

Debby Boone is one of four daughters of Pat and Shirley Boone who rocketed to stardom with the number one song "You Light Up My Life." The song earned her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1977. Debby will talk about how she started singing on stage as part of The Pat Boone Family Show and how she eventually made her first solo recording which launched her almost 40 year career. She'll talk about marrying Gabriel Ferrer, the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney, and the powerful influences Rosemary had on shaping her as an artist. Debby will also share her musical memories of working with such iconic stars as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.

The event takes place at the Bowers Museum Norma Kershaw Auditorium, 2002 N. Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706. Parking is available in lots on either side of the museum. For directions or information about parking, call 714-567-3600.

Tickets are $30 at the door. Membership in the Crescendo Chapter includes four events and an extra ticket for any one of the four events. The Guilds of Segerstrom Center, including the Crescendo Chapter, raise funds to support the Center's arts education programs, which each year serves more than 300,000 young people, families and educators throughout Orange County and four other California counties.
