Gulf Coast Startup Weekend to aid entrepreneurs

STAFF REPORT

PANAMA CITY — An upcoming session will help budding entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality.

From March 31 to April 2, Gulf Coast State College will host the fourth annual Startup Weekend, an event for entrepreneurs, developers, designers and artists to pitch their ideas and learn how to launch a business in a weekend. The event lets attendees meet and network with like-minded individuals, test ideas, meet potential co-founders and grow the entrepreneurial community in Northwest Florida.

Attendees will learn about product development, proof of concept and startup methodologies. They also will have the opportunity to form into teams and pitch their ideas to a panel of experts for a chance to win the “Best 2017 Big Idea.”

“We have coaches specializing in all aspects of marketing as well as product design and engineering,” Pamela Kidwell, executive director of the Business Innovation Center, said in a news release. “We are grateful to be a part of such an exciting weekend.”

The event will be at GCSC’s Advanced Technology Center. To register and for more information, visit http://bit.ly/StartupWeekendPC2017.
