Hunter Schoenborn, Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah High School

Hunter, a 2015 Valedictorian, relates that the youth apprenticeship program provides career-world jobs or preparation for careers that students are interested in. Hunter's interest is in the BioScience field - his job is the quality control lab assistant at Masters Gallery Foods of Plymouth, in which he conducts microbiological and chemical tests on cheese to ensure it is up to government and consumer standards.

Travis Moore, the School's Science Teacher, states that Hunter's efforts are much beyond that of a job shadow; he is there all the time and he's seeing what real scientists do on a daily basis.

Hunter states that the courses, lessons and homework are challenging, and feels it is preparing him for college.
