Richmond, PA (WHAM) - Pennsylvania State Police said they were able to track down the Byron-Bergen high school student in an AMBER Alert, along with the man who was with her, via her cell phone.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers said Genesee County Sheriff's investigators pinged the cell phone of the 14-year-old girl and got a hit near Mansfield, Pennsylvania.

The investigators then contacted the Pennsylvania State Police and asked them to respond to the location given by the cell phone, which was a Walmart in Richmond Township.

Police then found both the girl and 22-year-old Guillermo Torres-Acevedo at the store. The girl was found safe; Torres-Acevedo was taken into custody on a warrant for violating an order of protection.

An AMBER Alert was issued early Thursday afternoon after the girl went with Torres-Acevedo around 8 a.m. outside her school on West Bergen Road in Byron. According to deputies, she got off of the school bus and into the suspect's SUV. Deputies said she went with him willingly. Deputies said the girl's mother was the one to call in the missing girl report.

The sister of Torres-Acevedo tells 13WHAM News that her brother and the victim were in a secret relationship. She believes the two met on Facebook.

Torres-Acevedo was arrested on Monday, November 26 on rape and other child sex abuse-related charges, according to State Police. The arrest stemmed from a report submitted earlier in the month to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The victim in the case was a minor. 13WHAM News does not disclose the identities of victims of sexual abuse.

Troopers charged him with second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child.

The AMBER Alert was issued due to the charges that were filed against Torres-Acevedo, deputies said.

Torres-Acevedo remains in the Tioga County Jail awaiting extradition to Genesee County. The Tioga County District Attorney's Office said his next hearing is scheduled for December 10 at 8:30 a.m.
