FLORHAM PARK – It’s a case of “canines against cancer.”
Three Hanover Park High School sophomores from Florham Park are inviting dog owners in the area to sign up for this year’s second annual “Bark for Life of Florham Park.”
The benefit for the American Cancer Society is scheduled to take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, on lawn of the Florham Park Gazebo outside the municipal complex at 111 Ridgedale Ave. In the event of inclement weather, the “rain date” is noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31.
Florham Park teens Brendan Sardo, Jason Sardo and Derek Saul said they’re excited to bring the unique fund-raising event back to the community for a second year.

Fun Activities Planned – Goal of raising $20,000
“We set a goal of raising $20,000 this year, building off of last year’s success. This year we have more activities planned including a caricaturist, dog contests (musical sit, longest sit, best trick, and best bark), a Tricky Tray raffling off gift baskets that have been donated, a children’s activity area, bake sale, and many local vendors,” said Derek Saul.

WDHA 105.5 FM radio station also returns to help emcee the event, including radio personality and dog lover, Terrie Carr.

“T-Shirts, featuring a new logo designed by Hanover Park senior JamiLynn Rose, will also be sold at the event. We suggest that you pre-order on the website (www.relayforlife.org/barkflorhamparknj), since last year’s sweatshirt sold out the day of the event,” said Jason Sardo.

Generous Sponsors
“We continue to be inspired by the overwhelming support from the community and sponsors that have supported our idea,” said Brendan Sardo. “This week we were interviewed by a local TV station while at the East Hanover Food Truck Festival and continue to plan for how we could grow the event in the future.”

Generous sponsors include the following, in addition to may individual contributors, whether it be financially or with their time or suggestions:

Gold Sponsor: American Home Contractors and Total Health Physical Medicine and Rehab Center of Florham Park

Silver Sponsors include K9 Resorts of Madison, East Hanover PBA, Madison Animal Hospital, and Royal Canine Dog Training.

Rising Star Sponsors include Locked In Baseball, and Oink and Moo Barbecue.
