DIGHTON — The town’s three-member Board of Selectmen is seeking suggestions for a name for a park near the recently rebuilt and greatly improved Dighton Berkley Bridge.

The park would be established within a section of land next to the new bridge, on the Dighton side.

Name possibilities are due before this Wednesday, according to a posting on the town’s website, dighton-ma.gov.

A park on the Dighton side would complement the heritage park on the Berkley side of the bridge. The Berkley Bridge Village Heritage Park offers a place to sit, see shore birds and paddle a kayak or canoe on the Taunton River.

Since the restored bridge was reopened and dedicated during a December ceremony, two-lane traffic continues to flow easily over the span connecting the two Bristol County towns.
