Pupatella Expansion Plans Could Include Falls Church: Report

Pupatella is reportedly looking for restaurant spaces, including around Falls Church.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Arlington-based pizzeria Pupatella has announced plans to add more locations in the DC area, and Falls Church could be one of the landing spots.

Washington Business Journal first reported the expansion of eight more locations. A $3.75 million from private investors will allow Pupatella to open up to the pizzerias over the next 36 months.

A franchised location is already open in Richmond. The second of four Richmond-area pizzerias will open in Glen Allen this fall.

Along with Falls Church, possible locations could be in Reston, Fairfax, and Washington, DC's Capitol Hill and Dupont Circle, Eater DC reported. The Virginia locations would open before more potential locations in DC and Maryland.

Pupatella offers pizzas from a wood-fired oven as well as small plates, appetizers, paninis and salads. Pizzas are prepared in traditional Neapolitan style, and the restaurant is certified by Naples-based Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.

Husband and wife founders Enzo and Anastasiya Algarme started Pupatella as a food truck in 2007. The pizzeria in Arlington opened in 2010.

"In my home of Naples, classic Neapolitan pizza can be found on every corner. After not finding pizza like home, I became passionate about sharing the delicious food of my youth, " said Enzo Algarme in a statement. "We are thrilled to bring more Pupatella pizzerias to our Washington-area neighbors."

The restaurant is located at 5104 Wilson Blvd, Arlington.
