Missing vulnerable woman last seen in Ayrshire hospital found safe and well

Linda Cairney was last spotted leaving Woodland View Hospital in Irvine on Friday afternoon. Police say she has been dealing with some 'personal issues' and are keen to find her

A VULNERABLE missing woman who was last spotted leaving an Ayrshire hospital has been found.

Linday Cairney, 52, was last seen leaving psychiatric hospital Woodland View in Irvine at around 3.55pm yesterday.

But cops have now confirmed that Linda has been found in Prestwick.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Linda Cairney was traced safe and well in the Prestwick area this evening. Thank you to media and the public for sharing our appeals."

Inspector Andy Dolan, Irvine Police Office, previously said: "We have growing concerns for Linda’s safety and appeal for her to get in touch with her family, friends or the Police to let us know she is okay.

"Linda has been dealing with some personal issues lately and therefore it is vital we find her as quickly as possible.

"Linda stays in Prestwick however is known to travel to other areas including Glasgow, Clydebank, Erskine and Paisley.

"We would appeal to anyone who has seen anyone matching her description, or knows of her whereabouts to come forward and contact us.”
