City of Midland promotes building inspector

The City of Midland promoted its former Building Inspector Steve Taglauer to the role of chief building inspector.

Taglauer began his career in the city's Building Department in January 2005. Previously, he worked in a supervisory role at Cintas Corp. and has also owned and operated his own construction company, specializing in new home construction; window, door and siding installation; and exterior deck construction. He is a current member of the State of Code Officials Board of Directors and engages with fellow code officials and local construction organizations on a regular basis, including the Midland Home Builders Association.

"During his time with the city, Steve has become very well integrated into the local construction community and has earned the high regard of his peers across the state," said Grant Murschel, the city's director of planning and community development. "We are very fortunate to have such a proficient, hard-working and goal-oriented person serving our community and on our team."
