KOTTAYAM: In a major breakthrough in the
Thalayolaparambu murder probe, remnants of human bones and a wrist watch, supposed to be
Mathew's, were found at the premises of the shopping complex in Thalayolaparambu near here on Monday. Mathew's daughter,
Naisy, identified the watch.
The premises of the building was being dug up from Monday after
Aneesh, the accused in the case, told police that he had murdered and buried Mathew's body here.
Forensic surgeons arrived at the firmed that the bones belonged to a human being, said V S
Navaz, CI, Vaikom.The officer said that the remnants have been sent for further examination, including DNA test, to find out whether it was Mathew's.
“The watch has been mentioned in the FIR when he had gone missing in 2008,“ said Navaz who said that there are high possibili high possibili ties of fin ding more human remnants as they dig deep.
Mathew, a moneylender, had gone missing since 2008.The basement of the complex was earlier dug up following the Aneesh's statement.
Aneesh had confessed that he killed Mathew after the former failed to pay back a loan of Rs 1lakh.
