Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) has been awarded the prestigious status of being named as a Microsoft Showcase College.

The Microsoft Showcase College programme is a part of a global network of using technology to deliver improved learning and teaching services, called Microsoft’s Education Initiative.

Microsoft helps showcase colleges to focus on individual learning for students by using one-to-one devices and Office 365 Education, Teams, Skype to name a few, in combination with hosting education events.

Robin Ghurbhurun, Principal and Chief Executive of Richmond upon Thames College, said: “It is a great privilege to be working with one of the world’s leading technology corporations and Microsoft’s commitment to digital skills and education aligns closely with Richmond upon Thames College’s purpose to drive aspiration, ambition and achievement.

RuTC is currently in the process of building a completely new college on their Twickenham site which set to open its doors at the beginning of 2020.

This further education college is would provide a first class professional and technical hub for west London, packed with the latest technology for students and staff use.

Mr Ghurbhurun added: “With ever-changing technology, it is vital that as a leading education and training provider, we provide our students and with the latest cutting-edge technology that will enhance their learning experiences and better prepare them for their future careers.”
