4 Free Classic Car Shows Coming To Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Get ready for some cool cars on some hot nights, Bloomfield.

According to a township news release, the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department will be holding four free classic car shows on Wednesday nights at Universal Technical Institute, 1515 Broad Street between 6 and 9 p.m. in August.

“We are very excited to include the Hot Summer Nights – Classic Car Cruise Night to our 2019 Summer of Fun,” Michael Sceurman, Director of Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs said. “Offering four more free events that the whole family can enjoy enables us to fulfil our mission. I’d like to thank the Bloomfield Cruisers, Universal Technical Institute and the property management company Shelbourne for partnering with us to keep the Summer of Fun going strong.”

Each Wednesday will feature a special theme:

  • August 7 – First Responders Night featuring police, fire and EMS vehicles & staff
  • August 14 – Universal Technical Institute Tour and Chassis Dyno Runs
  • August 21 – Famous TV Show Cars featuring the late 60’s Batmobile and Batcycle
  • August 28 – Classic Drive-In Movie starting at 8:15 PM with feature film Disney’s “CARS”

There will be a DJ playing hits and classic along with trophies being awarded each night. For spectators’ convenience, UTI’s lobby will be open for the use of their restroom facilities and three food trucks will be on site each night selling a variety of food and drinks. The events will have local cuisine such as MexiFlip Taco Truck, Spanky’s Gourmet Grub and Luna Wood Fired Tavern.

All classic, show and specialty vehicles are invited to participate in this free event regardless of year, make or model and spectators are encouraged to attend this family-friendly event. There will be onsite parking for non-participants.
