Event highlights

Earth Day is Tuesday, and area residents will have lots of ways to celebrate nature, whether it’s through hikes, animal visits, educational programs, craft making, document shredding or nature stories. Here’s a look at some of what’s going on locally.

Monday

• “Save it — Saving the Animals on Earth” at Fieldcrest Estate, 1346 Easthill St. SE, North Canton. Mosaic animal crafts at 9:15 a.m., storytime at 10:30 a.m., “Dr. Doolittle” movie showing at 10:45 a.m., Our Zoo to You of Medina will present a lemur, goats, rabbits and a groundhog from noon to 2 p.m. Bring a bagged lunch. Tuesday

• Earth Day event, 5 to 7 p.m., National College-Stark County Campus, 4736 Dressler Road NW, Jackson Township. Event is a kickoff to the campus’ recycling project. Free document shredding, plastic grocery bag collection, clothing drive, recycling education, games, activities and gift card raffle.
