A bicyclist was killed when he was hit as he and his bike lay in a southbound lane of South Sheridan Boulevard about 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
There is no indication the driver who hit Frank Segura, 28, was under the influence, but toxicology tests are being performed on him and the victim, said Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis.
“When he hit him, the other guy was lying in the left-hand lane,” Davis explained.
Before he was hit, another driver saw Segura and was able to avoid hitting him. Segura was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
