SAN DIEGO — Police arrested a man suspected of stabbing another person to death in broad daylight at Balboa Park Saturday.

Police dispatchers received a call at 9:49 a.m. reporting a stabbing in Balboa Park near Redwood Circle, San Diego Police Lt. Anthony Dupree said.

Officers and medics found a 38-year-old man with stab injuries to his upper body, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Dupree said.

Police arrested the 47-year-old man ,who reported the attack, and charged him with murder.

The victim’s identity was not being released pending notification of next of kin.

David Martin says he won’t let this act of violence affect him.

““You don’t frequently hear of stabbings it’s something that I don’t find normal at all,” said Martin. ““I don’t think one stabbing will stop me from coming to the park.”
