MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police are increasing their presence near Spencer Elementary School on Westfield Street in Middletown during the school’s arrival and departure times in response to complaints about speeding vehicles, according to FOX 61.

FOX 61 reports a parent, Janice Ramos, has been recording cars speeding past the school when she drives her 4-year-old kindergartener to and from school every day since the beginning of the school year.

Ramos, who has recorded license plate numbers and other information, has forwarded her complaints to police. FOX 61 reports that its own cameras have caught drivers traveling at much higher rates than the posted 20 mph school zone limit.
