Russell County man found guilty on child pornography charges

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A jury has convicted a Russell County man in a child pornography case.

The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office says 54-year-old Robert Helton was found guilty on five counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

The attorney general’s office says the charges against Helton stem from a March 2014 investigation where investigators searched Helton’s home in Russell Springs, and determined someone at the residence was using a computer to share and possess images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children.

Helton is scheduled to be sentenced November 13.
