Is Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury allowed to have a social life?

That seems to be in question after the new coach was seen at the Kentucky Derby and the Saul "Canelo" Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs fight over the weekend.

Not only did Kingsbury, 39, hang out with Tom Brady and others at Saturday's Kentucky Derby in Louisville. He then made it to the fight in Las Vegas.

NBC Sports' Peter King called Kingsbury's weekend his "Doubleheader of the Week" in his Football Morning in American column Monday.

"Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury had a nice Saturday," King wrote. "He was a part of the Tom Brady entourage at the Kentucky Derby in the afternoon and early evening. Then he flew 3.5 hours from Louisville to Las Vegas to see the Canelo-Jacobs fight."

Some of Kingsbury's weekend exploits were captured on social media:

Reaction to Kliff Kingsbury's busy weekend

Some appeared to think that Kingsbury's busy Saturday was sending the wrong message.

Fox Sports 910 Phoenix's Jody Oehler weighed in with his thoughts:

"Kingsbury has publicly bristled at the idea of being football's most eligible bachelor but there's no doubt the Cardinals head coach lives a much different lifestyle from virtually every other NFL head coach," Oehler wrote. "How many other head coaches would be seen at two of the country's biggest sports related parties or pictured socializing with players from other NFL teams?

"How do Cardinals players feel about their coach's partying habits?" he continued. "Does it project a position of authority or does it make Kliff Kingsbury feel more like a teammate? What happens if a Cardinals player challenges Kingsbury on his partying? Does it set the wrong tone from the top for the rest of the team? There's obviously nothing wrong with Kingsbury enjoying his life however he wants but it is different by NFL head coach standards and different in the NFL often invites scrutiny."

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury had a busy weekend.

Pro Football Talk's Darin Gantt had some words for the situation, too.

"Coaches are human beings too, and get to have weekends sometimes. And new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury had one for the ages. As noted by Peter King in NBC’s Football Morning in America, Kingsbury wasn’t finished after hanging out at the Kentucky Derby with Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield and the boys," Gantt said. "Following the race, he hopped a plane for a three-and-a-half-hour flight to Las Vegas for the Canelo-Jacobs fight. While there will always be some football hardheads who cluck about any time spent not working (Bill Belichick was also at the Derby over the weekend, and it didn’t keep him from winning), we’re approaching the time of year when coaches have to unplug. What’s interesting is when you see the pictures of Kingsbury with a group of assorted players, you can forget for a moment that he’s not one of them. As Brady’s former backup, he could have been part of the wolf pack on those credentials. Now, the 39-year-old is in charge, and living large — before he gets back to the serious business of planning his first rookie minicamp this weekend."

Not the first time Kingsbury has been in the social spotlight

Kingsbury has previously partied at the Bird's Nest as part of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

He has previously been seen at the Preakness Stakes, as well.

In January, broadcaster Holly Sonders revealed that she was in a relationship with the Cardinals coach.

A different kind of NFL coach

Kingsbury's social life might break the mold of what we are used to with NFL head coaches, but the coach also has reputation for putting in a lot of hours at the office. He is up early and works tirelessly.

Evidently, he sometimes plays the same way as well.

Something tells me that if he starts producing wins in Arizona, fans won't care about how he spends his free time.

The Arizona Cardinals' official Twitter account didn't seem to mind his Kentucky Derby trip over the weekend.
