Stamford Man Who Broke Into Occupied Home Charged: Woodbridge PD

The accused is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A Stamford man suspected in a home break-in in Woodbridge has been arrested, police said.

On Friday, Nov. 9, Woodbridge Police served an active criminal arrest warrant for Garfield Fitzgerald Marriott, 52, of Stamford, police said. His arrest stems from the investigation of an October 2018 interrupted residential burglary where Marriott was confronted by the homeowners, while inside of their residence, police said.

With the assistance of the Bridgeport and Stamford Police Departments, Woodbridge detectives were able to identify Marriott as the party responsible for the incident and secured a warrant for his arrest, police said.

Marriott was taken into custody at Stamford Superior Court. He was transported back to Woodbridge where he was charged with the following: Burglary 2nd Degree, Larceny 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, and Breach of Peace 2nd Degree.

Marriott was detained at the Woodbridge Police Department on a $30,000 bond.
