St. Louis Dental Center Provided Free Dental Care to Veterans

Eighty veterans attended and received dental attention

A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) and Affinia Healthcare are pleased to announce the free Veterans Event at the St. Louis Dental Center for was a huge success.

Thanks also to partners Gateway to Better Health and St. Louis Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program, the cooperation between administrators, doctors, assistants, faculty, staff and students (some of whom are veterans themselves) resulted in these services:

*80 intake exams were provided

*15 urgent extractions were provided

*Veterans from all services were seen: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard

*Veterans served in Korea, Viet Nam, Iran, Afghanistan and more

“The entire team expressed their pleasure in caring for all the veterans and working with such a committed professional team,” said Dwight McLeod, DDS, MS, dean of the A. T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH). “More than 25 veterans first seen in a Dexter, Mo. clinic are currently in process for extractions and dentures. This is an ongoing priority for dental care for the St. Louis Dental Center team.”

The St. Louis Dental Center offers high quality, comprehensive, and affordable oral healthcare services for patients of all ages in a new, state-of-the-art 79,000-square-foot clinical training facility with 93 dental chairs. Dental care is provided for the St. Louis community by Affinia Healthcare dentists and staff and ATSU-MOSDOH faculty and dental students.
