ZCD’s Buckinghamshire housing scheme approved

ZCD Architects has secured planning permission for a 19-home affordable rental scheme in Buckinghamshire

The development, for Catalyst Homes, is in the village of Lane End near the M40.

All the homes will have two bedrooms and a private courtyard as well as carports. They will share a communal garden.

They will feature red and off-white brick exterior, ‘taking their cue from the local vernacular of red brick, render and clay-tiled roofs’ according to the practice.

It added: ‘The principal motivator for this scheme was to design a community of buildings with a high-quality shared space that was easily accessible for people of all ages and particularly safe for children.

’Our research in practice provides the evidence that this type of space results in better use by residents.’

The scheme is due to start on site this year for completion in 2019.
