A body recovered Friday from a Fridley pond is believed to be that of a missing Minneapolis man.

Fridley police Lt. Mike Monsrud said the body found in a drainage pond next to Springbrook Nature Center has tentatively been identified as Adam James Zaccardi, 32. It’s too early to tell whether foul play was involved, Monsrud added.

Zaccardi was last seen around midnight Sept. 3 in the parking lot of Springbrook Apartments, located on the eastern edge of the nature center.

Authorities searched the area for Zaccardi twice this week. About 10:30 a.m. Friday, a Fridley firefighter looking for Zaccardi discovered a body in a drainage pond just outside the northeastern border of the park. Authorities recovered the body with the help of an airboat from the Anoka County sheriff’s office.
