• Franklin Templeton, the $753bn California-based asset manager, has hired Manraj Sekhon as chief investment officer of emerging markets equity. Mr Sekhon previously served as CEO and CIO at Fullerton, the Singapore-based asset manager.

A reshuffle at the top of Investec, the South African-listed bank and asset manager. Stephen Koseff, the long-serving group chief executive, will step down in October and be replaced by two co-CEOs, Fani Titi, who has served as group chairman for the last six years, and Hendrik du Toit, the founding CEO of Investec Asset Management. Mr du Toit will be replaced as head of asset management by two joint CEOs, John Green and Mimi Ferrini, who serve as global head of client group and co-chief investment officer, respectively. John McNab will remain in post as co-CIO with Mr Ferrini.

BlackRock has appointed Kimberly Kim as head of financial institutions for the Asia Pacific region, a newly created post based in Hong Kong for the world’s largest asset manager. She joins from Deutsche AM.

• Scott Couto has joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments as head of North America for the $495bn asset management arm of Ameriprise Financial, the US financial services provider. The veteran Mr Couto previously served as president of institutional asset management at Fidelity, the US investment manager.

• Sebastien Faucher has moved to HSBC Global Asset Management as head of passive fixed income, a newly created role. He joins from Legal & General Investment Management.

• T Rowe Price, the $991bn US asset manager, has hired Tammy McPherson as a senior relationship manager for the UK and Ireland. Ms McPherson previously worked for Lombard Odier, the Swiss private bank and asset manager.

• Alexandra Dhavernas von Elverfeldt has joined Credit Suisse as a managing director in the international wealth management division of the Swiss bank. She previously served as chief executive of Trocadero Corporate Finance, an investment advisory company that she founded in 2011.

• Mark Horne has joined Fulcrum, the £4.9bn UK asset management boutique, as a director in its alternative strategies group. Mr Horne has worked in the past for Willis Towers Watson, the world’s largest adviser to institutional investors.

• John Clifford has moved to the European private debt team at Muzinich & Co, the $36bn New York-based credit specialist. Mr Clifford has worked in the past for Investec bank’s growth and acquisition finance arm.
