Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For St. Louis, STL County

Expect 60 mile-per-hour winds and quarter-sized hail.

ST. LOUIS, MO β€” The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for St. Louis and parts of St. Louis County until 4:45 p.m. At 4 p.m., the thunderstorm was moving east over Jennings at 15 miles per hour. Residents in the path can expect 60 mile-per-hour winds and quarter-sized hail.

Locations in the path of the storm include St. Louis, Florissant, Belleville, University City, Granite City, East St. Louis, Hazelwood, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Webster Groves, Ferguson, Creve Coeur, Fairview Heights, Overland, Clayton, Cahokia, Jennings, St. Ann, Glen Carbon and Bridgeton.

Officials recommend moving to an interior room in the basement or on the lowest floor of your home or apartment. Flash flooding may also occur. Do not drive through floodwaters.
