Shelby Township man dies after motorcycle-car crash

A 62-year-old Shelby Township man died this morning after his motorcycle was struck by a car in Macomb Township.

John Theodore Stoll was riding east on 24 Mile when he was struck by a westbound Dodge Caliber that was turning south on Hayes about 6:28 a.m., the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash happened at 24 Mile and Hayes and that intersection was partially closed for the investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.

The car was driven by an unnamed 43-year-old Macomb Township woman, who remained at the scene and is cooperating, the sheriff's office said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.
