Lady Gaga hails ‘A Star Is Born’ cast: “A real family was built”

The acclaimed music film is currently being nominated for an array of big-name industry awards

Lady Gaga has heaped praise on her fellow cast mates after A Star Is Born was nominated in four categories at the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The movie has been richly acclaimed since its release back in October, with Gaga’s performance as Ally Maine being singled out by plenty of critics and film fans alike as being worthy of the highest praise.

Gaga has now been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role by the Screen Actors Guild, with their 2019 awards ceremony set to take place on January 27 in LA.

As well as a nod for Gaga, A Star Is Born has also been nominated in the following categories: Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role (for Bradley Cooper), Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Sam Elliot) and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Gaga hailed her cast mates on Twitter last night following the nominations announcement, saying that she was “completely emotional to be recognised as an ensemble. A real family was built with this cast and I am so grateful.”

A Star Is Born has been recognised by multiple prize-giving associations in the past few weeks, including the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, the Golden Globe Awards and the Grammys.

However, the surge of goodwill for Gaga didn’t stop Madonna from recently accusing the star of ripping off one of her quotes during the press tour for A Star Is Born.
