Beer bottles broken, wine saved after car slams into WineStyles
A metro wine tasting shop is back to business as usual after a car crashed into the building.
WineStyles West Glen, located at 5515 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines, shared photos on social media of the storefront Monday after a white vehicle crashed into the shop.
Police said a woman attempting to park in front of the shop accidentally hit her gas pedal instead of her brake, sending her vehicle up a curb, through a window and into the WineStyles private party room.
Nobody was injured in the crash and no charges will be filed, according to authorities.
WineStyles reopened 20 minutes after the crash, posting photos of the damage on Facebook with the caption, “Announcing (WineStyles’) new drive-thru!”
The shop wrote in a second Facebook post that it will open at its usual hours Tuesday, encouraging visitors to “check out the new digs.”
According to WineStyle’s Facebook page, the car broke some beer bottles, but did not harm any wine.
