A Westminster man who went missing in June and was found dead in New Hampshire on Tuesday had to be identified through dental records, an N.H. official said Saturday.

Brandon Chicklis, 20, was traveling to Windham, N.H., for a belated holiday celebration when he disappeared on June 23, his father, Paul Chicklis, said in an interview Friday with NBC10 Boston.

“He was coming to see me so we could have dinner and spend some time together for Father’s Day,” Paul Chicklis told NBC10.

Family members did not respond to the Globe’s requests for comment Saturday.

The younger Chicklis never arrived, and a jogger found his body 17 days later alongside the eastbound lane of Route 119 in Rindge, N.H., nearly two weeks after his Honda Civic was found more than a mile and a half away at a Hannaford supermarket, according to New Hampshire authorities.

New Hampshire’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Jennie V. Duval, declared the death a homicide, officials said Friday. The cause of Chicklis’s death was not released, pending further investigation.

Benjamin J. Agati, a New Hampshire senior assistant attorney general, said State Police from New Hampshire and Massachusetts were continuing work on the case Saturday.

“Investigators have been hard at work today throughout the Northern Massachusetts and southern [New Hampshire] region,” Agati said in an e-mail.

He encouraged anyone who had seen Chicklis or his Honda subsequent to 1 p.m. on June 23 to come forward. Witnesses can contact Sergeant Shawn Skahan of the New Hampshire State Police at 603-223-8729.
