More Rain, Cold Front Coming To Central Texas

Don't put the umbrella away quite yet, as more rain is possible in the next 48 hours with a cold front dipping temps down to 60s.

AUSTIN, TEXAS β€” As you step outside on Wednesday, you might notice a nip in the air. That's because a cold front is coming to Central Texas with the possibility of more rain after an especially wet September.

According to the National Weather Service, the cold front moving into the area from the west will potentially create showers and thunderstorms in the area that could product an inch of rain with some areas getting up to three inches in the next 48 hours. The low temperature Wednesday night is forecast at 65 degrees.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Wednesday night will bring a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. North wind around 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 78. North wind around 5 mph. Thursday night, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph. By nightfall, the 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms continues. Cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
