UK five-day weather forecast: Cloudy and damp with risk of frost

Here’s the latest five-day forecast for the UK and Ireland from The Weather Channel.

A week of sunshine and showers, and it will be breezy with temperatures around normal for the time of the year in the westerly wind off the Atlantic.

Temperatures dropping to slightly below normal from mid-week onwards in a north-westerly wind.

Risk of a scattered grass frost in sheltered places Thursday and Friday night.Tuesday afternoon

More persistent rain with moderate to heavy falls across southern Ireland and then moving across Wales and central/eastern England by the evening.

Behind this, skies will become partly cloudy with predominantly dry conditions, except across western coasts with scattered showers.

The wind gentle south-westerly, moderate along the west coast and fresh along the Ireland west coast.   Wednesday

Variable cloud amounts with widespread showers in a moderate to fresh westerly wind.

These showers will be moderate to heavy at times across the west and the risk of the odd rumble of thunder.

The showers will dissipate in the evening, except along western coastal areas. The wind fresh to strong along the Ireland west coast.

Temperatures will reach 10-15C in the south and 8-12C in the north.Wednesday night

Dry with partly cloudy to clear skies across Ireland, England and Wales, with scattered showers across the west coasts.

Scotland will be mostly cloudy with rain across the west, dry across the east. Moderate westerly winds, with overnight lows of 4-7C, locally 8C along the south coast.Thursday

A cool start to the day with a scattered grass frost across the northern half of the British Isles. Sunshine in the south in the morning cloudier in the north.

Showers will spread eastwards and become widespread during the late morning and into the afternoon in a moderate to fresh westerly wind.

Moderate to heavy falls are likely over the west of Scotland. There is the risk of the odd rumble of thunder over Scotland in the afternoon.

A sunny and mostly dry morning across the northern half of the British Isles, except scattered showers across Scotland.

Mostly cloudy conditions across England and Wales, with light rain spreading in from the south-west.

A mostly cloudy day with further outbreaks of rain, mainly across western regions.

Turning drier and brighter across Northern Ireland, and south-east England by the evening.

Gentle east to north-easterly winds, with highs of 11-13C across the south, 9-11C across the north.
